Meeting called to order at 6:00 pm by Dr. Lisa Kapler.


Minutes from the July 1, 2013 meeting reviewed.  Motion made by Rosemary Tobin to approve the minutes, seconded by Dave Tice.


Agenda reviewed.  Motion made by Pat McDonnell to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Dave Tice, motion carried.


Gail Arjes, Floyd County Public Health/Home Health Care Administrator


FY13 year-end budget reviewed.  Of the $224,510.00 tax asking dollars, $184,000.61 was used and the remainder went back into the countyís general fund.


YTD budget reviewed through July, no concerns at this time.


Annual Report given to Board, this report will also be posted on the county website.


Connect America partnership reviewed, all going well.  The agency received its first check for $500.00 and this number is anticipated to increase as more residents learn about the Connect America Medical Alert button.


Gail reported that she is currently working on the first of three rounds of paper work for credentialing with third party billers under our public health NPI number.


Chart Audits reviewed by the Board, no new concerns.





Jeff Sherman, Floyd County Sanitarian Report


YTD budget was at 10.77% for fiscal year end 2014.


Jeff updated the Board on the number of septic systems installed and the number of wells installed. Jeff also reported the number of well samples, well plugging, well renovations, and the number of well samples done in Floyd County. Results are as follows: 

The number of septic systems installed for 2013 is 30 to date and for 2012 were 53.

The number of wells installed for 2013 is 17 to date and for 2012 were 20.

The number of well closings for 2013 is 6 to date and for 2012 were 27.

The number of well renovations for 2013 is 1 to date and for 2012 were 5.

The number of well samples for 2013 is 50 to date and for 2012 were 161.


 Jeff informed the Board that he would be attending the NEHA conference in La Crosse September 25th and would be attending an EHRT meeting this month also.


Jeff informed the Board that he had all of his pool, tanning and tattoo inspections done for this year.


Old Business:  Jeff informed the Board of what steps were taken in regards to the Taco Johnís incident.  Jeff reported he was in contact with IDPH and all issues were resolved.


New Business:  Roy informed the Board that the County has hired a HR consultant to review the Countyís handbook.  The Board of Health may be involved in future conversations in regards to the handbook.


Preparedness Coalition consisting of Floyd, Butler, and Franklin will be having a meeting on September 30, 2013 in Allison all members are encouraged to attend.
