NOVEMBER 4th, 2013

Others Present: Gail Arjes, Administrator Floyd County Public Health, Jeff Sherman, Floyd County Sanitarian, and Roy Schwickerath, Floyd County Board of Supervisors



Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by Dr. Lisa Kapler.


Minutes from the September 9th, 2013 meeting reviewed. Motion made by Rosemary Tobin to approve the minutes, seconded by Dave Tice, motion carried.


Agenda reviewed. Motion made by Dave Tice to approve the agenda, seconded by Jodie Buehler, motion carried.


Gail Arjes, Floyd County Public Health/Home Health Care


YTD budget reviewed no concerns noted.


Updated the Board on the progress made with the Third Party Billing for adult vaccine.  The first set of paperwork has been turned in.  There are two more phases of paperwork that needs to be turned in before training can take place for billing.  Gail should receive the additional paperwork yet this week.


Reported to the Board that staff has been busy giving flu vaccine.  We have approximately forty doses of flu vaccine left with a walk-in clinic scheduled for tomorrow.  Influenza has been reported in the state, but we have not received any reports of cases in Floyd County.


Gail informed the Board that Dr. Jodie Buehler’s term will expire in December.  Jodie informed the Board he is willing to serve another term.  Roy will bring this information back to the Board of Supervisors for approval.

YTD budget was not available.


Jeff presented the Board with the Cerro Gordo County Dangerous Dog Ordinance to look at to see if we should pursue for Floyd County. Jeff will be contacting Brian Hanft from CGCPH to get more information on the Ordinance. Also see if Brian would be willing to come and talk to the Board.

Next meeting will be held on January 13, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Floyd County Public Health/Home Health Care office located at 1003 Gilbert Street, Charles City, Iowa.
