The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop at on Monday, October 2, 2006 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Staudt, Supv. Dunkel and Supv. Enabnit.
Dunkel/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
Bill Cavanaugh, representing MessiahLutheranChurch and the Community Food Box, presented information regarding the increase in numbers of people utilizing the Food Box.Cavanaugh is requesting $2,500 from the County to subsidize expenses.The Board will act on this at the October 10 regular meeting.
The Board discussed health insurance.Consideration of bidding the insurance and enhancing the preventive care benefits were discussed.The Auditor will contact our insurance representative for more information.
The Board noted the hiring of Ben Kostka as a Deputy Sheriff, pending outcome of additional testing.Employment is expected to begin the last week of October with a starting wage at $34,054 per the Deputy contract.
The Board noted the receipt of a Resolution for Hawkeye Community College (Merged Area VII) levying a tax for the purpose of paying principal and interest on School Bonds.
Supv Dunkel updated the Board on the review of resumes for the Emergency Management Coordinator position.
