The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a special meeting at on Monday, November 6, 2006 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Staudt, Supv. Dunkel, and Supv. Enabnit.
Enabnit/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Enabnit moved to send a letter to the Iowa Utilities Board stating that since MidAmerican Energy has agreed to move the electrical lines farther west and it will no longer interfere with the Mulcahy airstrip that the Board no longer objects to the route.Motion carried 3-0.
Enabnit/Dunkel moved to abate the taxes in the amount of $54 for parcel #003073000 which the state of Iowa has now taken possession.Motion carried 3-0.
Supv Dunkel reported that on November 1, the Emergency Management Commission approved the hiring of Bridget Moe as the Emergency Management Coordinator effective November 20, 2006 at a salary of $35,000 which is split between E911 and Emergency Management.The split has not been determined yet but will likely be around $10,000 paid from E911 funds.Ray Huftalin will stay on to assist Moe at his current wage through February 1, 2007.Moe is required to move to FloydCounty within 90 days from the hire date.
The budget process will be discussed at the November Department Head meeting.The elected official’s Compensation Board will meet at on November 9th in the Board Room.
A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Dunkel to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
