The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at on Monday, August, 13, 2007 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit and Supv. Staudt.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
The Board discussed a claim for attorney fees on cases where the CountyAttorney has a conflict of interest.Supv Dunkel will visit with the CountyAttorney about these charges.Other claims will be reviewed individually after the meeting.
Mike Milligan, NIRHA Board delegate appointed by the Supervisors, stated that he will be resigning from the NIRHA Board effective September 18.The Board thanked Milligan for serving in this capacity.Milligan will contact a person suggested for his replacement.
The Auditor informed the Board that approximately 50 people completed the Precinct Election Official Certification training with 12 of them being new to elections.The state minimum wage will be increasing to $7.25 in January 2007.The Auditor would like to see wages for PEOs increased from $6.50 per hour to at least $7.50 per hour and offer an additional $0.50 per hour for chairpersons.No action will be taken at this time but the Board will consider this for wages paid after the new year.
The Board noted the receipt of a letter from IDED regarding the approval of the application for Enterprise Zone Benefits for 9 single family units to be built in the Charles City EZ-5 enterprise zone, agreement #08-HEZ-002.
A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
