The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at on Monday, November 26, 2007 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit and Supv. Staudt.
Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
The Board will review claims individually after the meeting.
Art White, Veterans Memorial Committee representative, updated the Board on the progress of the memorial in front of the courthouse.White expressed his thanks to the County for being so cooperative throughout this process.The electrical work is completed with the exception of the lights for the flags.The granite should be in place by Christmas.
Bridget Moe, Emergency Management Coordinator, and the Board discussed situations where “Road Closed” signs would be beneficial in emergency situations.Moe would like the County to purchase signs for first responders to use in situations as needed.The signs cost approximately $500 each.The Board also discussed amending the Emergency Management budget for FY08 to include Moe’s portion of E911 wages and then billing E911 rather than her wages coming directly out of the E911 budget/fund.The FY08 budget amendment and the FY09 budget hearings will likely be held in January.
Board of Review, Board of Health, Central Iowa Tourism Council, Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustments and an alternate for the North Iowa Regional Housing Authority all have vacancies or members with terms ending December 31, 2007.The Supervisors will look into who has interest in serving another term or finding new members as necessary.
The Board noted the receipt of the Floyd County Memorial Hospital Accountants’ Reports and Financial Statements for FY07.
Tom O’Brien and Donielle Jarvela, Auxiant representatives, presented the Board with the annual health plan renewal information for 2007.The Board will act at Tuesday’s regular meeting on renewal of administration, coverage and funding rates.
A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
