The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met as required by law for the annual organizational meeting at on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Supv. Enabnit, Supv. Staudt, and Supv. Dunkel.
Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
The Board recessed to conduct the annual cash count in various county offices.
The Board reconvened the organizational meeting of the Board for the year 2008.
Staudt/Dunkel moved to elect Arlin Enabnit as Board Chairman for 2008.Motion carried 3-0.
Chairman Enabnit continued the meeting.
Chairman Enabnit appointed Supervisor Staudt as Vice Chairman Pro-Tem for 2008.
Dunkel/Staudt moved to hold the regular Board meetings at on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, Workshops at on Mondays the courthouse is open and department meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at Motion carried 3-0.
Staudt/Dunkel moved to authorize the Auditor to destroy certain useless documents over ten years old. Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve Resolution #01-08 To Draw Warrants -2008, authorizing the Auditor to draw warrants for certain fixed charges against the County. Motion carried 3-0.
Staudt/Dunkel moved to name the Charles City Press and Rockford-Nora Springs Register as the official county newspapers. Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve the appointments to the various departments. Motion carried 3-0. Appointments are as follows:

Staudt/Dunkel moved to send one employee from Public Health/Home Health Care Dept to attend the NDSI Healthcare Conference in Biloxi, Mississippi and request that the department head require the employee to take comp time in place of paying overtime for hours over 40 for that week.Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Staudt moved to turn the General Assistance office over to Jeff Sherman for Planning/Zoning/Sanitarian and that he and CPC/Case Management resolve what to do with equipment, supplies and files.Motion carried 3-0.
