The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at on Monday, March 10, 2008 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt, and Supv. Dunkel.
Dunkel/Staudt moved to amend the agenda to include discussion regarding GIS services for utility companies.Motion carried 3-0.Staudt/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as amended.Motion carried 3-0.
The Board will review the claims individually after the meeting.
The Board noted the fees collected by the Clerk of Court for the month of February totaling $2,384.80.
The Board noted a March 3, 2008 resolution adopted by the Board of Directors of the Nora Springs-Rock Falls Community School District that provides for a tax levy for the purpose of paying principal and interest on $525,000 General Obligation School Refunding Bonds.
The Board noted a letter from the Sheriff stating that Brian Tiedemann will no longer be holding the position of Lieutenant effective March 3, 2008.Wages will be adjusted accordingly.
The Board reviewed a request from a Qwest representative for courtesy access to the GIS system so he can verify some pubic right-of-ways for projects to improve Qwest’s infrastructures.Bruce Hovden, CountyAssessor, will check with other surrounding counties to see if they offer utility companies free GIS access.
Chairman Enabnit will visit with the Engineer’s office about information the Board would like provided to a Harkin representative who will be her March 25 to look at our bridges.The CountyEngineer will be providing an updated construction map.The Board would also like to see a complete listing of how many bridges there are in the county, the weight limits of the bridges and which of those bridges are embargoed bridges, along with known inconveniences of those embargos to local citizens.
A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Dunkel to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
