The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at on Monday, April 14, 2008 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt, and Supv. Dunkel.
Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
Art White, representative for the Floyd County Veterans Memorial Committee, requested permission to have the ceremony for the dedication of the memorial on May 26.White was provided with an application to use the courthouse grounds that will need to be completed and submitted for Board approval at a regular Board meeting.White and the Board discussed sod bids, lighting concerns and a donation from the County.
The Board noted the receipt of a letter from Gail Arjes accepting the Public Health/Home Health Care position starting April 25, 2008.
Kathie Baldwin, PH/HHC RN, has rescinded her resignation and Jennifer O’Brien, Administrator, has accepted the withdrawal and is allowing Baldwin to stay with the agency.
O’Brien also informed the Board that Pat Zwanziger, PH/HHC RN, has been terminated effective April 11, 2008.
The Board noted receipt of a letter from Sheriff Lynch requesting approval to hire a Sheriff’s Deputy effective July 1, 2008.The Board will act on this at the next regular meeting.
Jeff Sherman, Health/Zoning Administrator, and the Board discussed a follow up survey from a NACo survey that Sherman completed a couple of months ago.The Board provided Sherman with direction on completing the survey.
The Board noted the receipt of the Original Notice of the City of Charles City petitioning the court for a hearing on June 23, 2008 to grant the City title to property located at 614 9th Ave.The CountyTreasurer and Attorney have been provided with copies of the papers served.
A motion was made by Supervisor Dunkel and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
