The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at on Monday, May 12, 2008 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt; Absent: Supv. Dunkel.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 2-0.
The Board will review the claims individually after the meeting.
The Board discussed a request from Justin McGill, Farmer Cooperative in Greene, for more ammonia storage tanks in the southeast corner of their property in section 35.McGill intended to be at today’s meeting but had to change his schedule.Jeff Sherman, Zoning Director, informed the Board that the property already has a conditional use permit that should allow them to add more tanks.McGill will attend tomorrow’s meeting to discuss this more and the Board may take action if necessary.
The Auditor informed the Board that Zeke’s Construction will be taking down the flag pole, cutting off approximately 20 feet per Doug Schroeder, Conservation Director, and delivering it to the FossilCenter.Perry Novak Electric has capped all the electrical wiring with the wiring staying so it could be used at a later point depending what the Board would like to do with that area.
Marilyn Dettmer, Magistrate Court Judge, has requested some remodeling work in the judges chambers and magistrate court room.The Board will take a look at this area.
The Board noted transfer of Cynthia Kellogg, PH/HHC Aide from part-time to full-time effective May 19, 2008.
The Auditor informed the Board that they do not make appointments to the Elderbridge Agency on Aging.They are only consulted for suggestions to the appointment from residents of the FloydCounty area.Karen Vander Lee is working on paperwork to fill the vacancy by Judy Hauser.
Bruce Hovden has agreed to represent the County as a broadband infrastructure steering committee member.Al Hastings has been notified.
