The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at on Monday, September 8, 2008 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt and Supv Dunkel.
Staudt/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
The Board will review claims individually after the meeting.
Jim Hebel, Jim Erb, attorney representing Jim Hebel, Jesse Marzen, CountyAttorney, and the Board discussed the disposition of 1.03 acres located in section 34-T95-R15W, adjacent to property owned by Hebel.Marzen will prepare a legal description for publication and prepare paperwork as needed.
Marzen and the Board discussed hog confinements and possibly sending a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency.Marzen will draft a letter.
The Board noted the receipt of a letter from Mary Lou Seibert who is resigning from the Magistrate Appointing Commission effective immediately.The Board discussed filling the vacancy for the term that ends December 31, 2008.The Board noted that all three commission appointments expire December 31, 2008.
The Board noted the fees collected from the Clerk of Court for the month of July totaling $2,196.36 and the month of August totaling $1,615.80.
The Board noted the receipt of North Iowa Juvenile Detention Services Annual Report for FY08.The Board discussed services provided by NIJDS and competition for those services.
A motion was made by Supervisor Dunkel and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
