The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop session at on Monday, September 15, 2008 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt, and Supv. Dunkel.
Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
Tracy Meise, City of Charles City representative, Calvin Hopper, Secondary Road Foreman, and the Board discussed flooding problems with the Washington School Watershed area.Meise and Hopper are working with NCRS and FEMA on funding for repairs of the project.
The Board discussed modifying the north parking lot to include removing a portion of the sidewalk owned by the City Improvement Association and replacing it with an angled sidewalk and ramp to the parking lot.The Auditor visited with Jo Herbrechtsmeyer, CIA representative, about this project on Friday.Herbrechtsmeyer said the CIA is fine with this improvement.
Meise updated the Board about the City of Charles City’s intentions with the flood damage.The City will likely take out flume and put in something like a fish ladder in that area.
Bob Lincoln, CPC/Case Management Director, discussed doing a resolution to form a mental health and disability regional service network.He plans to have a 28E agreement for the September 23 Board meeting.
Gail Arjes, PH/HHC Director, would like to enter into a contract with KCHA to advertise public health services.The Board of Health budget would be able to pay $250 toward advertising costs.
The Board noted the receipt of the Public Health/Home Health Care FY08 Annual Report.
PH/HHC will set up a date/time for employee flu vaccinations.
The Board noted the receipt of the Floyd County Assessor FY8 Annual Report.
A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Dunkel to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
