The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop session at on Monday, December 1, 2008 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt, and Supv. Dunkel.
Staudt/Dunkel moved to amend the agenda to include discussion regarding the mental health center.Motion carried 3-0.Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as amended.Motion carried 3-0.
Bob Lincoln, CPC/Case Management Director, discussed internet access needs to facilitate a new program for the MentalHealthCenter counselors who use county office space to meet with clients.The Auditor is working with Solutions on upgrading our firewall and looking into wireless connection.The MentalHealthCenter needs this service by January 1.
The Supervisors discussed terms ending for members of the Board of Review, Board of Health, Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustments, Magistrate Appointing Commission and Area Development Corporation Board.Assignments were made for each Supervisor to look into who is interested in being reappointed and filling vacancies.
The 2009 Holiday schedule was discussed.The Clerk of Court and Federal Reserve Bank holiday schedules were provided.The Board will act on assigning county holidays at the December 9 meeting.
The Board, Kevin Power, KPE Consulting, John Howe, Custodian, and the Auditor traveled to Soy Basics and the Chickasaw County Courthouse, both in New Hampton, to look at heating/cooling systems and window projectsDJ Njus, Soy Basics Maintenance Manager, and Bruce Semti, Tem-Tec representative provided info on Soy Basics heating/cooling system.
A motion was made by Supervisor Dunkel and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
