The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop on Monday, July 25, 2005 in the Boardroom of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Enabnit, Supv Staudt, and Supv Dunkel.
Dunkel/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 2-0.(Supv Staudt arrived at )
The Board reviewed claims to be paid on July 26, 2005.
The Board discussed indigent funeral policies for Veterans Affairs and General Assistance with Lois Litterer, General Assistance Director, Marcia Hall-Jacobson, Veteran Affairs Director and Veteran Affairs Commissioners Harold Haus and John Loftus.Iowa Code 252.27 for General Assistance and 35B.13 for Veteran Affairs were reviewed.Information was presented on what other counties pay for burials.Veteran Affairs and General Assistance offices would like to keep policies separate.Both agree that the cost of burials should be increased from $850.Veteran Affairs would like their rate or $1,850 to be the same.Lois Litterer commented that she thinks the amount should be the same for both.
The Board discussed Troy Cmbs Property LLC (Kmart) property tax abatement. Changes in verbiage on one section of the agreement were discussed.
The Board discussed health/dental insurance information received from Auxiant.Supervisor Dunkel was not able to get information from Don Lorsung last week.This issue is on the agenda for tomorrow to be discussed with Dusty Rolando, County Engineer.Supv. Staudt mentioned that Lt. Tiedemann would like a letter from the Board with what the Supervisorís intend to do so he can take it to the Deputyís Association.
The Board reviewed the voting equipment quote from Matt Parrott.The Auditor is waiting for more information from Matt Parrott and is looking into getting two additional optical scan machines and DREs.
The Board reviewed the changes to employee performance appraisal form.Supv Staudt will discuss this at the next Department Head meeting.
