The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for special meeting at on Monday, February 2, 2009 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Staudt, Supv. Enabnit, andSupv. Dunkel.
Dunkel/Staudt moved to amend the agenda to include noting the receipt of the Charles City Area Development Corp. financial statement.Motion carried 2-0.Staudt/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as amended.Motion carried 2-0.
Dunkel/Staudt to set a public hearing on February 10, 2009 at to review the recommendations on property located at 1950-230th Street, to rezone the property from Ag to R-1.Motion carried 2-0.
The Board noted the receipt of the certification of tax levy for fiscal year 2009/2010 from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.The levy shall be .30 (30/100) cent per thousand dollars of assessed value of all taxable property in the county.This is a decrease of .05 (5/100) cent per thousand dollars of assessed value.
The Board noted the receipt of the North Iowa Vocational Center Financial Statement for fiscal year ending June 30, 2008.
The Board noted the receipt of the Charles City Area Development Independent Auditor’s Report Financial Statements Schedule of Findings for June 30, 2008.
Supv Enabnit arrived at the meeting.
Dan Assink, Chris Myers, and Travis Bartz representing the Floyd County Deputy Sheriff Association discussed with the Board a tentative contract agreement.The Board of Supervisors will review the agreement that was presented to them and will make a decision about it at a future meeting.
Future items to discuss at the February 10, 2009 meeting will be the Deputy Sheriff’s agreement.
