Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

March 2, 2009, 9:00 AM


The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop session at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Chairman Staudt, Supv. Dunkel and Supv. Enabanit.

Enabnit/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 3-0.

The Auditor reviewed payment information from FEMA work done on the Washington Watershed Area.  The Board suggested the administration portion of the reimbursement be put in the County’s General Fund.

Bridget Moe, Emergency Management Coordinator, updated the Board on various grants.  The Community Disaster Grant Program information was provided to Gail Arjes, PH/HHC Director, to apply for the $2,000 grant for reimbursement of tetanus vaccinations.  Long Term Recovery Team update:  has 25 cases; a new case advocate starts next week; they are researching a Camp Noah Day which is held a year after the flood and tailored toward children; $2,500 grants to families is in process.  Hazard Mitigation Plan:  A “History of Floyd County Disasters” meeting scheduled for April 2 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center.   CERT:  the first class has been completed and supplies have been ordered; an additional $1,800 is available next year; they are in need of a trailer, approximately 7’x14’, to store equipment.  Regional grants:  Floyd County will receive an Active Shooter Kit valued at $5,000; Moe is looking at upgrades to communications trailer for additional capabilities; there is approximately $5,000 for secondary EOC sites possibly at the Rockford Fossil/Nature Center and the Assembly Room of the courthouse.

Jesse Marzen, County Attorney, said 360 Network and Floyd County have settled for 360 Network to pay $59,999 of delinquent taxes. 

Marzen and the Board discussed drainage district #12.  Marzen has been provided with names for resources that may be able to assist with drainage requirements and will start working on this issue.

The Auditor will place an ad in the newspaper for the sheriff’s vehicle.

A motion was made by Supervisor Dunkel and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0.
