Floyd County Board of Supervisors Workshop Meeting

August 1, 2005, 9:00 a.m.

 

UNAPPROVED MINUTES

 

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2005 in the Boardroom of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following members in attendance:  Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt, Supv. Dunkel.

Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 3-0.

The Board discussed the Cityís health insurance and union contract.  The City offers health and life insurance but not dental insurance.  The City pays 80% of health insurance for single and family plans.  The Board directed the Auditor to notify the County Engineer about the Cityís plans.  The Board would like to have the County Engineer have a game plan for the union contract negotiations for the next Supervisorís meeting.

The Board reviewed proposed changes to the fireworks permit.  The Auditor will have the County Attorney review the changes and the Board will take action at the next regular meeting.

The Board discussed the Floyd County Housing Trust Fund Grant.  The County received $81,662 from the Iowa Finance Authority to pass on to the Charles City Area Development Corp for distribution per the Floyd County Housing Trust Fund Board of Directors.  Supv. Dunkel serves on this Board.

The Board noted the retirement of Home Health Aide, Sharon Rover.

Future agenda items include appointments for cost savings for sharing and regional alliances committee per request from Mayor Erb.

A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Dunkel to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0.
