Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for special meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2009, in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Staudt and Supv Enabnit; absent: Supv Dunkel
Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 2-0.
Ralph Smith, Attorney for the City of Charles City, informed the Board that he made some corrections to the Valero agreement and the City has approved and signed the agreement. Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the Stipulated Settlement Agreement between the City of Charles City, Floyd County, and Valero Renewable Fuels Company, LLC. Motion carried 2-0.
Smith updated the Board on a committee that is being established to review the use of the Middle School.
Supv Staudt mentioned that he received a call from Judy O’Donohoe’s office requesting a meeting time for the Supervisors and the Rockford City Council to visit about a 28E law enforcement agreement. Staudt and O’Donohoe agree to meet on July 20 during the Board of Supervisor’s workshop meeting at the courthouse.
Gloria Carr, Floyd Auditor informed the Board about the 2010 Census Partnership Program and Complete Count Committee. Trudy O’Donnell, Charles City City Clerk, Sandy Hicks, Deputy Auditor and Carr attended a Census Awareness ICN Conference meeting in Mason City last week and met with Deb Gaul, Nora Springs City Clerk, Cleone King, Floyd City Clerk to discuss working together with Census efforts
The Board noted the fees collected for the quarter ending June 30, 2009 from the Auditor, Recorder and Sheriff and for the month ending June 30, 2009 from the Clerk of Court.
Mark Melrose, Melrose Insurance Agent, presented a review of the County’s insurance standing for FY09 and the FY10 policy renewal information.
Bridget Moe, Emergency Management Coordinator, explained a correction that the state made to the EMPG Adjusted Allocation Award. Supv Staudt signed the revised document.
A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn. Motion carried 2-0.
