Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2009, in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Staudt, Supv Dunkel and Supv Enabnit.
Enabnit/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 3-0.
Supv Dunkel updated the Board on a special committee regarding the use of the Charles City Middle School. The committee will have its first meeting on July 28.
Jesse Marzen, County Attorney, discussed with the Board about how to respond to a Petition for Quiet Title and Acceptance of Service for property located in Floyd. Marzen expects this issue to be resolved by next week.
Jeff Sherman, Zoning/E911 Addressing/Sanitarian Director, spoke to the Board about the placement of a sign for the City of Greene on private property along T38 and the Avenue of Saints. The current county ordinance does not address this type of signage. Sherman explained the DOT requirements for advertising signage. The DOT informed Sherman that this type of city directional signage is up to the County to address. The Board expressed no opposition to this type of sign. The rewrite of the zoning ordinance will address this type of signage.
Donielle Jarvela, Auxiant representative, presented a mid-year review of the Countyís health insurance.
Supv Dunkel excused himself from the meeting.
Jarvela provided information on the iHealth Wellness Education Program.
The Board noted Supv Staudtís approval last Friday of Brian Fullerís application for fireworks permit for a display at 1737 Redwood Avenue on July 11 and put on by Brian put on by J&M Displays. The appropriate training and insurance requirements were met.
A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn. Motion carried 2-0.
