Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

UNAPPROVED MINUTES

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Chairman Staudt, Supv. Dunkel, Absent:  Supv. Enabnit.

Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 2-0. 

Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve the September 8 and 14, 2009 minutes.  Motion carried 2-0.

Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve the following claims:  County #694-873, Secondary Roads #11962-11988 and MH-DD #58684-58715.  Motion carried 2-0. 

Dunkel/Staudt moved to sponsor the Floyd County Community Foundation Grant Application for the Charles City Area Development Corporation Leadership 10 program and authorize the chair to sign the Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement.  Motion carried 2-0.

Dunkel/Staudt moved to sponsor the Floyd County Community Foundation Grant Application for the Floyd County Firefighterís Association for a Sparky Costume and authorize the chair to sign the Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement.  Motion carried 2-0.

Gil White asked the Board to forgive the taxes on nine commercial lots on the east side of town.  Chairman Staudt requested White put something in writing for the Oct 13 board meeting. Supv Dunkel would also like White to include what the taxes are on the east and west side of the road.

Dunkel/Staudt moved to approve waiving the $500 fee for GIS shape files for an Ohio State University and the Economic Research Service, an agency within the US Department of Agriculture, for a research project.  Motion carried 2-0.  Supv. Dunkel will draft a letter to go along with the disc of parcel information requesting that the information be used for research and education purposes only and not for profit.

Dunkel/Staudt moved to authorize the Sheriff to dispose of light bars to other public, non-profit entities that service Floyd County as he deems appropriate.  Motion carried 2-0. 

Dunkel/Staudt moved to authorize a transfer of funds from the Farm to Market account to the IDOT account for materials inspection costs in the amount of $2,488.49.  Motion carried 2-0. 

Dusten Rolando, County Engineer, provided the board with foremanís minutes.  The culvert to the Catt House should be done by the end of October.  The DuraPatch machine is being built now.  The status of Secondary Road Operator positions were discussed.

A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Dunkel to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0.
