Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009, in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Staudt, Supv Dunkel and Supv Enabnit.
Enabnit/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board noted the receipt of a letter from the US Department of Justice regarding the grant application being declined for the Recovery Act: Assistance to Rural Law Enforcement to Combat Crime and Drugs; Category I: Combating Rural Crime grant. Sheriff Lynch commented that a deputy was budgeted prior to applying for the grant which covered 3-years of wages for a new deputy as long as the deputy was employed for three years.
The Board discussed appointments to various county boards and commissions with December 31st vacancies. Supv Dunkel will research the Assessorís Examining Board, Board of Review and Board of Health appointments. Supv Enabnit and Supv Staudt will research the Hospital Commission, Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustments. The Compensation Condemnation Board and the Boardís appointment for the Elected Officialís Compensation Board were also discussed.
Future agenda items: Veterans Affairs part time staff.
A motion was made by Supervisor Dunkel and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn. Motion carried 3-0.
