Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting
November 30, 2009, 9:00 AM
The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009, in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Staudt and Supv Enabnit; Absent: Supv Dunkel.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to amend the agenda to include discussion regarding the 2010 holiday schedule. Motion carried 2-0. Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried 2-0.
Bruce Hovden, County Assessor, informed the board of a potential candidate for the Board of Review which is appointed by the Conference Board and noted by the Supervisors. Supv Enabnit is working on a candidate for the Hospital Commission.
The Board discussed the FY11 budget process including what to tell department heads at tomorrow’s Dept Head meeting about budgeting for wages/salaries, health insurance premiums expected to stay the same, possibly putting a vision care program in place for non-union/bargaining employees and putting out a sign up sheet for departments to meet with the Board following the January 4, 2010 Organizational meeting. Travis Bartz, Deputy Sheriff, was called regarding the Deputy’s vision care program and when the deputies would be coming to the board with bargaining negotiations for FY11. Bartz reported that they are waiting to see what the Compensation Board recommends for election officials.
The Board discussed the 2010 Holiday Schedule. Schedules from the Clerk of Court, Federal Reserve and a local bank were reviewed. Discussion included providing ten holidays instead of nine due to the likeliness of having little or no wage increases for FY11. Supv Enabnit will ask attendees at tomorrow’s Dept Head meeting opinions on Monday, January 18, Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday, or Friday, December 31, 2010, New Year’s Eve, for the tenth scheduled holiday.
Supv Dunkel was called to discuss Thursday’s District II Supervisor’s meeting.
A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn. Motion carried 2-0.
