Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting
January 11, 2010, 9:00 AM
The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a workshop session at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit, and Supv. Staudt.
Eanbnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board will review the claims individually after the meeting.
Sheriff Deputies Jeff Crooks, Travis Bartz, and Ben Kostka presented a 3-year proposal of an agreement between Floyd County and the Floyd County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. Proposed changes include an increase in sick days from 130 to 140 days maximum, implementing the same vision care policy as it is for the other non-union/non bargaining unit employees, and 2%, 3%, and 4% wage increases for FY11, FY12, and FY13 respectively. No action will be taken until budgeted numbers are compiled.
Jeff Sherman, Zoning/E911 Addressing/Sanitarian, visited with the Board about proposed changes to the Nuisance Ordinance. The Board has no issues about the changes and directed Sherman to visit with Jesse Marzen, County Attorney, for review.
Randy Janssen, Janssen Waterproofing, visited with the Board about courthouse building repairs. Discussion included a brick replacement project for the south and east sides of the building, historical preservation criteria, and timeline for completing the projects.
The Board discussed custodial duties for the Hospice building. The Auditor proposed using the existing custodial staff on a trial basis to ensure the needs of the Hospice building and the courthouse are met and to include a $0.50/hour wage increase for the two custodians during the trial period.
The Board noted the fees collected from the Auditor, Recorder and Sheriff for the quarter ending December 31, 2009.
Supv Staudt excused himself from the meeting.
The Board reviewed the following FY11 budget requests: Conservation, Auditor, Court House, General Services, and Data Processing.
A motion was made by Supervisor Dunkel and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn. Motion carried 2-0.
