The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for special meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2005 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt, Supv. Dunkel.
Staudt/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
Chairman Enabnit opened the hearing for the preliminary plat of the Lake View Estates subdivision at Mike Milligan, Zoning Director, Russel Strawn, developer, and Lyle TeKippe, engineer from TeKippe Engineering, P.C. attended the hearing.The Auditor reported that there were no written or oral issues presented ior to the hearing.Milligan reported that all adjacent land owners were notified.The Zoning Board met at today and had two issues with the plat: 1)lots in the flood plain area and 2) septic systems.Milligan’s recommendations before approving a final plat are 1) to have a maintenance agreement for wells with one well serving the north four lots and one well to serve the south six lots; 2) address septic system concerns – Strawn and TeKippe proposed the installation of a mechanical filtration system; 3) receive necessary approval from the Core of Engineers and DNR for building in a flood plain.The north four lots need to be built up in some areas up to 10 feet.The preliminary plat was originally approved in 1990.Since then, two lots have split and an area was added.The hearing was closed at 10:44 a.m.
Dunkel/Staudt motioned to approve the preliminary plat for the Lake View Estates subdivision at the recommendation of the Zoning Board.Motion carried 3-0.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the Proclamation for Mental Health Center of North Iowa Day.Motion carried 3-0.
A motion was made by Supervisor Dunkel and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
