Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop session at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit, and Supv. Staudt.
Staudt/Enabanit moved to add to the agenda noting the hiring of a Conservation employee. Motion carried 3-0. Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 3-0.
Marilyn Meissen, AFLAC representative, spoke about the AFLAC products available. Meissen is now licensed to sell Cincinnati Life Insurance and proposed a Payroll Deduction Term 20 Life Insurance product. The Board will decide by May 11th if they will allow her to offer additional products.
Norm Klemesrud, County Attorney, requested the Board allow him to increase the hourly wage for his secretary/receptionist. The Board will act on this at tomorrow’s regular meeting. Klemesrud also updated the Board on hiring an assistant attorney. During the interim, Klemesrud would like to continue using Ralph Aronson potentially until the first of June. Klemesrud intends to hire a part-time county attorney between $45-60,000, working an average if at least four days per week.
The Board visited the break room regarding plumbing issues. The Auditor will get a quote for repairs. The Board toured the exterior of the building to review projects with the generator, sidewalk repairs, lighting and security issues. The janitor will check with the Secondary Roads Mechanic about the generator and the Auditor will check some options for the other issues
The Board noted the hiring of Matthew Hager as the Conservation Maintenance Technician starting the first week of May at $27,000 per year.

A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn. Motion carried 3-0.
