May 3, 2010, 09:00 AM
The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop session at 09:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit and Supv. Staudt.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to amend the agenda to include discussion regarding an FCC licensing for the stream gauge reporting system and discussion regarding food inspections. Motion carried 3-0. Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried 3-0.
Jeff Sherman, Zoning/E911 Addressing/Sanitarian Director, updated the Board on the stream gauge installation project. Chairman Dunkel signed a letter to the National Weather Service requesting that the county be able to use their FCC hydrological frequency for our system.
Sherman informed the Board that Cerro Gordo County Public Health is going to stop doing all inspections for the 16-county region on behalf of the state as it is not cost effective to continue to do them. They currently do only food inspections for Floyd County. Sherman believes his training qualifies him to do the inspections and will check with his assistant to see if she would be interested in training for this task. Sherman will let the Board know when he receives the official notice and see if the state plans on making any accommodations for inspections.
The Auditor updated the Board on 1) the break room plumbing which has been contracted with Ronís Plumbing and Heating; 2) a price list from Kay Park Recreation, Janesville, for cement barricades for certain areas around the courthouse; 3) seeking assistance from Jansen Waterproofing regarding writing specifications for the building replacement project on the south side of the building.
The Board discussed any dates that may be conflicts for trial dates for Vorhes trial.
Future agenda items: Recovery Zone Bonds
A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Dunkel to adjourn. Motion carried 3-0.
