Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

UNAPPROVED MINUTES

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit and Supv. Staudt.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the April 26 and 27 and May 3, 2010 minutes.  Motion carried 3-0.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the following claims:  County #3104-3273, Secondary Roads #12474-12527, and MH-DD #59074-59092.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve two applications for the use of courthouse grounds for the Veteranís Memorial on May 31 and RAGBRAI Committee on July 28.  Motion carried 3-0.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to abate $459 in real estate taxes on parcel #110122600100, known as 1809 Indiana Street, Charles City due to the City of Charles City taking possession of the property on December 31, 2008.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve hiring of Todd Prichard as a part-time Assistant County Attorney working 2/3 time at an annual salary of $45,000 effective May 12, 2010.  Motion carried 3-0.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the 28E Law Enforcement agreement between Floyd County and the City of Nora Springs at $25/hr as needed for FY 2011.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve five 28E Law Enforcement agreements between Floyd County and the cities of Colwell, Floyd, Marble Rock, Rockford, and Rudd at $4 per capita.  Motion carried 3-0.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve two fireworks permit application from Tim Laube on behalf of J& M Display for two displays of fireworks on May 22, subject to proof of required insurance.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the specifications for the South wall brick replacement project and direct the Auditor to mail notices to certain vendors and publish in the local paper.  Motion carried 3-0..

Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve spending up to $2,000 for the purchase of tables for the General Assembly Room.  Motion carried 3-0.

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the Contract for Bridge Replacement on T18 (Dancer Ave) with Taylor Construction, Inc of New Vienna, IA for $525,983.35.  Motion carried 3-0.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the Adopt-A-Highway Application from Pin Oak Estates Lot Owners Association.  Motion carried 3-0.

Dusten Rolando, County Engineer, updated the Board on projects.  Triumph Ave is not open yet; Shadow Ave is done; T38 is patched ad done.  Crews are working on box culvert projects, patch/spot rocking roads and other work orders.  The state is starting on T24.  Old Highway Road will start next week. 

A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0.
