Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

UNAPPROVED MINUTES

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit and Supv. Staudt.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to amend the agenda to include review/action regarding a request from the City of Greene for permission to install a river sensor on Gates Bridge.  Motion approved 3-0.  Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as amended.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Enabnit/Staudt moved to set a public hearing and first reading of a Social Host Ordinance for June 8 at 9:15 a.m.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the May 10, 11 and 17, 2010 minutes.  Motion carried 3-0.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the following claims:  County #3274-3427, Secondary Roads #12528-12551, and MH-DD #59093-59133.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the Liquor License Application for the Floyd County Fair Society effective June 1, 2010.  Motion carried 3-0.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to set a public hearing for June 8 at 9:30 a.m. to review Jim and Jane Frisbie’s application to rezone a parcel of land from Ag to R-1 and to review a new subdivision.  Motion carried 3-0.

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the Fiscal Agent Agreement for FMC Community Empowerment/Early Childhood Iowa for FY11.  Motion carried 3-0.

Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the Licensed Code Support Agreement, Licensing & Services Agreement and Consulting & Services Agreements with Solutions, Inc and direct the Auditor to sign and return the contracts.  Motion carried 3-0.

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the request from the City of Greene to install a river sensor on Gates Bridge north of Greene with the City being responsible for any installation and maintenance, subject to the review of the Emergency Management Director.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Supv Enabnit inquired with the Dusten Rolando, County Engineer, about a Butler County project and trucks traveling Floyd County’s gravel roads.  Rolando updated the Board on projects, including spot rocking, patching jobs, Durapatch work, coring frost boil areas, and work orders.  Supv Dunkel suggested that Rolando’s staff work on projects early so they can be let and contracted by December 31, 2010.  Rolando notified the Board that the survey equipment has come in.  The Triumph Ave project is done.  Heartland should be starting the Clarksville Road project after June 1.  Mathey has been working on the Old Highway Road.  Foreman’s minutes were reviewed.  Contract rock will be going down soon.  Crews are working on a day labor box culvert project by Rockford. 

A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0.
