Meeting Minutes

Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

July 19, 2010, 09:00 AM

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop session at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit, and Supv. Staudt.

Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 2-0.

Keith and Dean Eastman, representatives of Farmers Feed and Grain, Inc., spoke to the Board about interest in Allied Equipment, Inc. property for purposes of adding storage for liquid fertilizer adjacent to their facility.  There are currently $3,177 in unpaid property taxes and $146,182.20 in a special assessment that has not been paid.  Frank Rottinghaus, County Treasurer, reported that in approximately 2007 he serviced notice on persons who he determined had interest in the property, including the City of Charles City, and no party stepped forward.  Therefore, a tax sale deed may be issued to Floyd County or the County could assign the certificate to an interested party.  The Auditor will check with the County Attorney to determine which option is best for the situation.  Eastmanís will provide the County with a written letter of interest in the property.

It was noted that Chairman Dunkel signed the Final Report and County Reimbursement quarterly claim form for the IDPH County Substance Abuse Prevention Services grant.

Donielle Jarvela and Rachel Kane, representatives from Auxiant, provided a midyear review of the Floyd County Employee Health Insurance Plan.

A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0.
