The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for regular session at on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit and Supv. Staudt.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 2-0.
Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the July 12, 13, and 19, 2010 minutes.Motion carried 2-0.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the following claims:County #148-287, Secondary Roads #12677-12703, and MH-DD #59205-59227.Motion carried 2-0.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the letter to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration regarding a formal request to use the Federal Hydrological frequencies for use in transmitting the hydrological data related to the stream level sensors and rain gauges located in Floyd County.Motion carried 2-0.
Enabnit/Staudt moved to appoint John Loftus as a Veteran Affairs Commissioner to fill the remainder of a vacated term ending June 30, 2012.Motion carried 2-0.
The public hearing regarding the FY11 County Budget amendment opened at 9:15 a.m. The auditor reported that she received no written or oral comments in support of or opposition to the amendment.Supv Enabnit commented about the $1,000,000 previously budgeted to loan to the tire company at 5% interest as an incentive if necessary but it was not needed so it is being put back as unreserved/designated funds.The Auditor explained the departments affected by the amendment including:Veteran Affairs for FY11 grant allocation, General Services for FEMA buyouts and insurance, UR Roads to correct service areas for roads projects, Debt Service to correct fund for bond payments on road projects, and Conservation Reserve for additional park projects.The hearing closed at 9:23 a.m.Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the FY11 County Budget Amendment.Motion carried 2-0.
Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve an Adopt-A-Highway extension request for Boy Scout Troop 34.Motion carried 2-0.
Dusten Rolando, County Engineer, provided foremanís minutes and his timesheet.Taylor Construction is working on the north pier of the bridge south of Rockford.The edge line should be done on the Old Highway road.The Board signed the already approved contracts for seal coating which should start in August.Crews are working on the bridge northwest of Floyd at Lacosteís bridge.Rock resurfacing should be finished out of the Williams Quarry today and then they will move to the southwest part of the county.Crews have been working with the Durapatch machine.The bridge crew is determining box culvert projects for next year.Staff will be working on design work for the urban renewal projects.
A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn.Motion carried 2-0.
