Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

October 25, 2010, 09:00 AM

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit, and Supv. Staudt.

Staudt/Enabnit moved to amend the agenda regarding update on the FMC Governance Board Decat Coordinator position.  Motion carried 3-0.  Enabnit/Staudt moved to approve the agenda as amended.  Motion carried 3-0.

The Board will review claims individually after the meeting.

The Auditor informed the Board that Accurate Mechanical, our contracted boiler maintenance company, is no longer in business and therefore not able to provide the contracted maintenance support.  Accurate intended for another company in Des Moines to continue the 3-year contract that expires next year but that company was not interested in taking over the contract.  Waterloo Boiler Company was contacted to put the boiler together for the season and a 1-year maintenance contract was signed.  Supv Staudt was consulted about the situation last week and included in making the decision to contract with WBC.

Supv Staudt updated the Board on the FMC Governance Board Decat Coordinator position.  Advertising for the position will be through the Area Education Agency.  AEA will continue to be the employer of record through June 2011 at which time the Department of Human Services may contact the county for taking over the employer role.

Future agenda items:  gender equity policy statement/application process for 2012 and end of year appointments.

A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Staudt to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0.
