The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Enabnit, and Supv. Staudt.
Staudt/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
The Board will review claims individually after the meeting.
Chairman Dunkel informed Supv Enabnit and Supv Staudt about efforts of the Courthouse Security Committee including the installation of panic bars at the east and south entrance, master key lock changes, replacing sections of concrete sidewalk to the north, eventually installing an electronic access system to the west door to use for employee entrance only, eliminating public parking on the west side, eliminating public access from the west and east side, and using the north door as the only public access to the building.Supv Enabnit and Supv Staudt expressed concerns of limiting public access to the building.
The Auditor provided the Board with a proposed Risk Management Policy which has been approved by the Risk Management Committee.Proposed job description forms were also presented.The Board will act on the policy at tomorrow’s regular meeting
The Board reviewed upcoming appointments for various boards that they serve on as well as board and commissions by which they appoint with terms ending December 31, 2010.Some appointments will be made at tomorrow’s regular meeting.
The Board noted that Ron Noah has accepted an appointment to serve on the Mental Health Center Board.
The Board noted that the Clerk of Court collected $1,712.07 for the month of November in fees for the County.
The Board noted receipts of two letters from the Floyd County Community Foundation regarding grants for the Floyd County Housing Trust Fund-2011 Furnace Replacement Program and the Firefighters Association-Cellar Nozzles.The entities were awarded $5,000 and $2,400 respectively.
The Board noted the receipt of resolutions from NIACC regarding bonding for Iowa Industrial New Jobs Training Certificates and from the City of Charles City bonding for General Obligation Vehicle Acquisition Notes.
