Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

UNAPPROVED MINUTES

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for a special meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Chairman Dunkel, Supv. Kuhn, and Supv. Kamm. 

Kuhn/Kamm moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 3-0.

Mark Melrose, Melrose Insurance Agency representative, updated the Board on past and present insurance claims, premiums, loss ratio history and coverage on certain properties.  The Rockford dam issue was also discussed.

Kamm/Kuhn moved to go into closed session meeting in accordance with Iowa Code 21.5.1.c at 9:50 a.m. to discuss matters of litigation with legal counsel.  Roll call vote:  Kamm, Kuhn, Dunkel-all ayes.  Motion carried 3-0.

The Board came out of closed session at 11:02 a.m. 

Kuhn/Kamm moved to take no action following the closed session meeting.  Roll call vote:  Kuhn, Kamm, Dunkel-all ayes.  Motion carried 3-0.

The Board noted the receipt of the Central Service Cost Allocation Plan for FY10 prepared by Cost Advisory Service, Inc.

Kamm informed the Board about a discussion he had with Don Hoeft regarding drainage district #12.  Kamm will visit with the County Engineer and then follow up with the Board at the January 25th meeting.

The Board continued with budget review on the following departments:  Data Processing and Juvenile Probation.

The Board discussed upcoming meetings for various boards/commissions. 

A motion was made by Supervisor Kamm and seconded by Supervisor Kuhn to adjourn.  Motion carried 3-0.
