Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop session at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Kamm and Supv. Kuhn; Absent: Supv. Dunkel.
Kuhn/Kamm moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 2-0.
Supv Kuhn commented that approximately 50 people attended the first watershed authority meeting; the next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Charles City Public Library. Supv Kamm, Tim Fox, Charles City Economic Development Executive Director, and other county representatives, met with ADM representatives to discuss ADMís proposed site and road concerns.
The Auditor updated the Board on the FEMA Public Assistance Program where files are pretty much brought up to date which is required before demolition can take place at the end of the month. The FEMA Acquisition Program file is missing documents that the County Attorney is preparing. Filing extensions is necessary for both programs.
The Auditor updated the Board on phase 1 of the Iowa Communications Network, Broadband Technology Opportunities Program, where fiber optics lines are being installed to all courthouses. At this time, the effort benefits the Drivers License departments and the Clerk of Court. The project is scheduled to be completed by December 31, 2012. Bridget Edson, said there was suppose to be a regional 911 meeting this morning to discuss connecting E911 centers with fiber optics but it was postponed to another date.
The Auditor reviewed FY13 budget forms.
