Meeting Minutes

Floyd County Board of Supervisors Workshop Meeting

November 21, 2005, 9:00 AM

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2005 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Chairman Enabnit, Supv. Staudt, and Supv. Dunkel.

Staudt/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 3-0.

The Board will review claims individually after the meeting.

The Auditor left a message with Schoonover Tuck Pointing in regard to tuck pointing work that needs to be done but a call has not been returned.  Schoonover’s will be asked to quote all repairs needed for the building.

Ron Stewart said Floyd Township is hurting for firemen volunteers.  There are only two people available in Floyd during the day.  Gene Henley commented that they would like to cover just Floyd Township and questioned what would need to be done to change this.  Discussion led to possibly having a public meeting to notify the township of problems which may help in recruiting efforts.  To change boundaries, it is believed that the fire districts would have to get together.

The Board discussed hourly rates for Secondary Roads to do snow removal.  Their rates appear to be less than last year’s private individual so the Auditor and Janitor have made arrangements for Secondary Roads to provide this service.

The Board discussed negotiation of wages for Secondary Roads.

Chairman Enabnit needed to leave for the NIACOG Transit System building ribbon cutting in Mason City.

Tom O’Brien, Auxiant, presented information to the Board regarding stop loss coverage for 2006.  The Board discussed rates effective January 1 with Auxiant and July 1 for employees.

No future agenda items were discussed.

A motion was made by Supervisor Staudt and seconded by Supervisor Dunkel to adjourn.  Motion carried 2-0.
