Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

June 12, 2012, 9:00 AM

UNAPPROVED MINUTES

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:  Supv. Kamm, Chair, and Supv. Dunkel; Absent:  Supv Kuhn.

Dunkel/Kamm moved to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried 2-0. 

Public comment - none. 

Dunkel/Kamm moved to approve the minutes of May 21, 22 and June 4, 2012.  Motion carried 2-0. 

Dunkel/Kamm moved to approve the following claims:  County #3300-3496 Secondary Roads #14281-14330, and MH-DD #59494-59506.  Motion carried 2-0. 

Dunkel/Kamm moved to appoint Justin DeVore as a community champion for the Connect Iowa initiatives.  Motion carried 2-0.

Dunkel/Kamm moved to approve an application from Tim Laube, J&M Displays, for Use of Floyd County Courthouse Grounds to use the north parking lot on July 4, 2012 and extend the request to allow for a rain date if applicable.  Motion carried 2-0.

Dunkel/Kamm moved to approve Res #21-12 Appropriation Changes within service area #1 for FY12.  Motion carried 2-0.

Dunkel/Kamm moved to approve the Law Enforcement Agreements Pursuant to Chapter 28E Code of Iowa for the cities of Colwell, Floyd, Rudd, Rockford, Marble Rock, and Nora Springs for FY13.  Motion carried 2-0.

Dunkel/Kamm moved to approve Res #22-12 Floyd County Code of Ordinances Supplement.  Motion carried 2-0.

Dunkel/Kamm moved to set the annual cash count for July 2 at 8 a.m.  Motion carried 2-0.

Dunkel/Kamm moved to approve the Agreement between Floyd County Secondary Road Department and Teamsters Local Union No. 238 effective July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2015 and authorize the chair to sign when the original agreement becomes available.  Motion carried 2-0. 

Dusten Rolando, County Engineer, provided foremanís minutes and his timesheet.  Updates on B57 road work, the Dancer Ave box culvert, 180th St box culvert and other box culvert projects were provided.  The embargo on Quarry Road will end this month.  It was decided to self insurance the two trailers, one damaged by hail, and the other used as a lab.  The Iowa DOT map configurations for the intersection at Floyd were discussed.  Rolando will be attending training part of next week.

Dunkel/Kamm motioned to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried 2-0.
