Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for special session in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Chairman Kamm, Supv. Kuhn and Supv. Dunkel.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 3-0.
Updates on various boards/commissions and activities since the last meeting: Supv Kamm attended an Area Development Corp/Asset Management meeting where spec buildings were discussed and Business After Hours gathering. Supv Kuhn attended a FMC Early Childhood Iowa meeting where the FY13 budget was approved. Supv Kuhn reported that the Renewable Energy Committee opened seven bids for the Fossil and Prairie Center technology demonstration request for proposals; Laura Elfers, Naturalist, will compile a report comparing bids. Supv Dunkel attended a Revitalization/Business Committee meeting where they are looking for rich businesses to come to locate in Charles City, a Revitalization full board meeting where they discussed lack of rural access points for canoes and tubes, and a FMC Landfill meeting.
Dunkel/Kuhn moved to approve the Drainage District #12 Engineer’s report as amended, set August 28 at 10:30 a.m. as a public hearing date for the district and hire James Hudson as a drainage attorney to prepare legal documents. Motion carried 3-0.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to void a warrant to Radiologist of North Iowa for claim #3488/warrant #30320 in the amount of $325.43 issued in FY12. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board discussed the remaining $622.82 to raise to apply toward the project to put FLOYD back on the courthouse.
The Board noted the fees collected by the Sheriff’s Department for the quarter ending June 30, 2012.
Future agenda items: canoe and inner tube rural river access and the City of Charles City’s response to the disposition of the 2nd Street property.
Dunkel/Kuhn motioned to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
