Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Supv. Kamm, Chair, Supv Kuhn and Supv. Dunkel.
Dunkel/Kuhn moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 3-0.
Public comment - none.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to approve the minutes of August 27 and 28, 2012. Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Kuhn moved to approve the following claims: County #556-680, Secondary Roads #14506-14554, and MH-DD #59555-59561 with the exception of claim #680 for adjustments to be made and submitted through payroll. Motion carried 3-0.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to approve the county to sponsor a Floyd County Community Foundation grant application for funding of the 2013 Furnace Replacement Program and authorize Tim Fox, Area Development Executive Director, to process and approve the online application on behalf of the County. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board asked questions of Fox on the progress of the Connect Iowa of which he continues to work on.
Dunkel/Kuhn moved to table a property tax suspension request until September 25 for the County Attorney to continue research on the eligibility of the requestor. Motion carried 3-0.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to extend the September 13, 2012 deadline to complete the platting of the second Molstead Estates Subdivision for sixty days to November 13, 2012. Motion carried 3-0.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to approve Res #33-11 Remembrance of the 11th Anniversary of September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks on the United States and encourage attendance at the memorial today in Central Park at noon. Motion carried 3-0.
The public hearing for the FY13 County Budget Amendment opened at 9:30 a.m. The Auditor reported that she received no written or oral comments in support of or objection to the amendment and reviewed the departments where amendments were necessary, including Conservation, Veteran Affairs, Recorder and Sanitary Disposal. The hearing closed at 9:36 a.m. Dunkel/Kuhn moved to approve the FY13 County Budget Amendment. Motion carried 3-0.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to approve Res #32-11 Appropriation Changes for FY13 County Budget. Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Kuhn moved to approve an Underground Construction Application from Butler County REC. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board reviewed the Iowa Department of Transportation Official Report of County Highway Engineer for FY12.
Engineerís Report: Dusten Rolando, County Engineer, updated the Board on night surveys on signs, road grading, drainage and voids on bridges, letting next summer on longitudinal and PC patching work on Underwood, a potential drainage project on 11th Street. Rolandoís time sheet and foremanís minutes were provided.
Kuhn/Dunkel motioned to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
