Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Supv. Kamm, Chair, Supv Kuhn, and Supv. Dunkel.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to amend the agenda to include time to reflect on the Newtown, Connecticut tragedy and approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried 3-0.
At the request of Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, the Board took a moment to reflect on the unbearable tragedy befell on the town of Newtown, Connecticut, resulting in the death of twenty children and six educators from the Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Public comment: Supv Dunkel presented the December 1, 2012 County Social Services Annual Report for the Board to note, so noted.
Kuhn/Dunkel moved to approve the December 10 and 11, 2012 minutes. Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Kuhn moved to approve the following claims: County #1588-1750, Secondary Roads #14766-14792, and MH-DD #59606-59611. Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Kuhn moved to authorize a transfer of funds from the Farm to Market Account to the IDOT account for materials, inspection costs in the amount of $1,560.89 and $606.30. Motion carried 3-0.
Engineer’s report: Duane Folz, Assistant to the County Engineer, updated the Board on road conditions and snow removal schedules.
Tim Fox, Area Development Corporation Executive Director, provided information on an economic development business opportunity. Kuhn/Dunkel moved to approve Res #39-12, a resolution of the Floyd County Board of Supervisors, approving application by Hawkeye Mold & Design Co. Inc, d/b/a Hawkeye Preferred Tooling Group, to the Iowa Economic Development Authority within the Iowa Enterprise Zone Program. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board discussed appointments to various boards they serve on and possibly changes to some of the boards for the Organizational meeting.
The Board reviewed the January 3, 2012 minutes and resolutions in preparation of the January 2, 2013 Organizational meeting.
Dunkel/Kuhn motioned to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
