Floyd County Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance: Supv. Kuhn, Chair, and Supv. Schwickerath, and Supv Kamm.
Kamm/Schwickerath moved to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 3-0.
The Board will review claims individually prior to tomorrow’s meeting.
Update on various boards/commissions/activities since the last meeting: Supv Kuhn mentioned that representatives of the Upper Cedar Watershed Management Authority attended a meeting in Minnesota to see the unveiling of their watershed plan and how they will use it in the future. Supv Kamm attended an Enterprise Zone, Asset Management, Jobs Potential Review and Area Development Corp meetings where they approved an application for Hawkeye Mold Tooling. Supv Kamm also attended a Landfill meeting. Supv Schwickerath attended a North Central Regional Planning District Committee, a North Central Regional Emergency Response Commission meeting where the county fee was raised from $0.60 to $0.65 per capita, and a Region II RPA Policy Board, previously called T21. Supv Schwickerath also spoke with the ISAAC Walton League about cleaning up Rotary Park Road and a Community Revitalization meeting where they talked about the façade projects.
The Board noted that receipt of letters from the Floyd County Community Foundation awarding $1,300 for the Floyd County Fire Association Sparky Costume and $5,585.62 for the Housing Trust: 2013 Furnace Replacement Program.
The Board noted the Floyd-Mitchell-Chickasaw Solid Waste Management Agency Annual Report ending September 30, 2012.
Amy Staudt and Troy Jaeger, Floyd County Fair Society representatives, updated the Board on the board operations of the Fair Grounds, improvements to the grounds, and presented a budget request of $10,000 in addition to the dumpsite rental of $12,000.
Greg, Allison, and Zachary, Solutions representatives, presented information regarding managed services, equipment needs, web hosting, backups, wireless networks, and other Solutions services.
The Board continued FY14 budget reviews for the following departments: Clerk of Court, Courthouse (building), DHS, Medical Examiner, Public Defender, General Services, Data Processing, Juvenile Probation, and County Government Assistance. Fund balance projections were also reviewed.
Future agenda items: Conservation projects/budgeting for FY14.
Kamm/Schwickerath motioned to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
