The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop at on Monday, January 23, 2006 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Staudt and Supv. Dunkel; Absent:Supv. Enabnit.
Staudt/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 2-0.
The Board will review claims individually after the meeting.
The Board discussed letters from Iowa Northern Railway Company and Frank Rottinghaus, Treasurer, with Marilyn Dettmer, CountyAttorney and Rottinghaus.
Calvin Shultz presented a letter to the Board regarding his concerns with the Emergency Management office in regard to Search & Rescue matters.Shultz’s sent his letter to the Emergency Management Board.The Board of Supervisors recommended Shultz attend the Emergency Management Board meeting on Wednesday, January 25 at
The Board discussed the Clerk of Court’s request for a uniformed patrol officer for the court room.This will be discussed for review/action for a future agenda item.
The Board, Bruce Hovden, CountyAssessor, and Gloria Carr, CountyAuditor, discussed the GIS and system support package options available from Promap/Schneider Corp for FY07.Last year $3,200 was paid out of the General Fund to ProMap.The Assessor’s and Auditor’s FY07 recommendations are to purchase an Enhanced System Support package for $6,800 paid out of General Basic and split the $2,687.50 between the Assessor, Engineer and General Funds per the breakdown of packages in departments.
The Board noted the hiring of Hannah Gerleman as a part time night shift jailer beginning January 18 starting at $10/hour and moving to $11/hour after she is certified through the state as a jailer.
The Board noted the Clerk of Court’s fees collected for December 2005:Sheriff’s fees of $461.75, Surcharge of $325.00 and Treasurer for $1,030.99.
The Board noted the receipt of letter from Kent Kraus, Tri-County, withdrawing Construction Permit #64037 for a hog confinement which was to be located in the NE¼ of the NW¼ of Section 25 in the Cedar East Township of Floyd County.
The Board reviewed the job description and noted the publication of the Zoning Administrator/911 Addressing Coordinator/Sanitarian position.
The Board noted the termination of employment for Linda Gansen, RN with Public Health.
