The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for regular session at on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Staudt, Supv. Enabnit, and Supv. Dunkel.
Enabnit/Dunkel moved to amend the agenda to include noting the hiring of home health aide and continuing with the budget review process after the meeting.Motion carried 3-0.Enabnit/Dunkel moved to approve the agenda as amended.Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Enabnit moved to approve the January 9 and January 10, 2006 minutes.Motion carried 3-0.
Enabnit/Dunkel moved to approve the following claims:County #2383-2550, Secondary Roads #17975-18002, MH-DD #56418-56444.Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Enabnit moved to approve the list of appointments to the Compensation Condemnation Board for 2006.Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Enabnit moved to approve Resolution For A Public Hearing Regarding The Creation Of An Aviation Authority And Participation Therein By Floyd County Pursuant To The Provision OfChapter 330A, Code Of Iowa 2005, As Amended and set a Public Hearing for February 14, 2006 at 10 a.m.Motion carried 3-0.
Dunkel/Enabnit moved to authorize the CountyAttorney to extend a counteroffer to Iowa Northern Railroad Company for back taxes and the offer should include consequences if payments are not made timely.Motion carried 3-0.
The Board discussed the salaries of the Engineer’s office staff with Dusten Rolando, CountyEngineer, and Martha Cavanaugh, Office Manager.Chickasaw County Supervisors called to discuss the CountyEngineer’s FY2007 salary of $93,500.The Board discussed the union negotiations for Secondary Roads.
The Board discussed weed commission procedures and budgets with Rolando and Doug Schroeder and Barb McKinstry from the Conservation Department.
The Board discussed Secondary Roads activities with the Rolando.
The Board noted the FY2005 Audit report for Mental Health Center of North Iowa, Inc. and Its Combined Service Projects.
The Board noted the transfer of $25,000 from General Supplemental to Emergency Management Agency.
The Board noted the hiring of Jamie Ballantine as a part time Home Care Aid effective January 23 starting at $8.40 per hour.
A motion was made by Supervisor Dunkel and seconded by Supervisor Enabnit to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
