The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for workshop at on Monday, April 3, 2006 in the Board Room of the Floyd County Courthouse with the following in attendance:Chairman Staudt, Supv. Dunkel, and Supv. Enabnit.
Dunkel/Enabnit moved to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried 3-0.
The Board discussed the 2nd Street (CountyShed) property.Supv Dunkel visited with Steve Lindaman, CharlesCityParks and Recreation Dept, about the University of Northern Iowa College of Design Spring semester project.The school will complete their study in mid-April.Lindaman said the Park Board should have their information by mid-May.Supv Dunkel would like a letter sent to Lindaman and the Mayor to have the city’s proposal to the County by July 1.
The Board discussed the UlsterTownshipCounty shed.The county’s road graters do not fit in the shed.There are a few pieces of small equipment, snow fence, pallets of brick and small misc. items stored in the shed that could be stored elsewhere if the County chose to dispose of the property.Sheds throughout the County will be discussed with the CountyEngineer at the next regular meeting.
The Auditor presented the idea of having non-mandatory, paid, employee meetings with scheduled times throughout a day in May allowing our current vendors to come in to present tax advantages of participation in Flex/Cafeteria Plans, 457(b) deferred comp and insurance programs.The Board suggested the Auditor discuss this with the CountyEngineer.The Auditor intends to present the idea at tomorrow’s Department Head meeting.
No future agenda items were discussed.
A motion was made by Supervisor Enabnit and seconded by Supervisor Dunkel to adjourn.Motion carried 3-0.
