MISSION: To provide temporary assistance to low income families in Floyd County who are ineligible for, or awaiting approval from Federal or State assistance programs.

Information:

The Floyd County General Assistance office is located in the DHS Building, 1206 S Main St., Charles City, IA 50616 641-257-6363 and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays). No appointment is required. A person must:

• Be a Resident of Floyd County
• Be 18 years of age
• Meet income guidelines

Assistance to fulfill basic needs include:

• Rent
• Current Utilities
• Health Supplies
• Medical
• Burial
• Access to health care to University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics
