Minutes of Board of Adjustment’s Hearing held on July 16, 2013.

 

Call to Order.  Meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Co-Chair, John Gohr.  Board members present were  Bill Fluhrer, John Gohr and Dennis Staudt.  Also present were Laurie Simpson, Zoning Administrator, Jeff Sherman, Board of Health, Applicant LeRoy Vance and David R. Marr.  Roll call of Board members was taken with three out of the five (5) members present.   Board Members Angela Ruzicka and Ann Sullivan were absent.

 

Approval of Agenda.    Motion to approve the agenda as presented was made by Dennis Staudt and seconded by Bill Fluhrer.  Motion was unanimously approved. 

Approval of Minutes.  Motion to approve the meeting minutes of hearings held on April 16, 2013 and June 18, 2013 was made by Bill Fluhrer and seconded by Dennis Staudt. Motion was unanimously approved.

 

Old Business.  No old business. 

 

New Business.

 

A conditional use request was made by LeRoy Vance to open a winery on property located at 2527 160th Street in the Southwest Quarter of Section 15, Township 96 North, Range 16 West of the 5th P.M.,  Floyd Township, Floyd County, Iowa.  Applicant LeRoy Vance was present for the hearing with neighbor David R. Marr in support of said winery.   Applicant presented to the Board he has 2 acres of grapevines and he has formed an LLC to process and sell wine.   Neighbor, David R. Marr, spoke in favor of approving this request.   No objections were noted by any person(s) or by mail.  Discussion was held by the Board on possible additional traffic this may cause, if any.  The Board determined traffic should not be an issue.  Motion to approve the request was made by Bill Fluhrer and seconded by Dennis Staudt.  Motion was unanimously approved.

 

Adjourn.  Motion to close the hearing was made by Dennis Staudt and seconded by Bill Fluhrer.
