The Board of Health is comprised of 5 members, 1 of which has to be a licensed medical doctor, who oversee the Public Health/Home Health Care Department and the Environmental Health Department. They also have a part-time employee who does needs assessments for Floyd County and they contract with Community Nursing, who makes house calls to residents who have been released from the hospital but still need some care. The board meets 5 times a year or whenever the need arises.
